Radionav Sim iPhone App

Tuesday, April 12, 2011 @ 1:30 PM

With continual advancements in GPS technology it is no wonder that pilots are beginning to lose their handle on radio navigation skills.  It is with this trend in mind that Vincent Lambercy of ConnectingPilots.com has developed a new iPhone app that helps licensed pilots, flight instructors, and their students better understand and improve upon their radio navigation skills.

The Radionav Sim iPhone app is a simple radio navigation trainer that provides users an interface that includes a map, two stations, two instruments (ADF, VOR, or HSI) and a quiz mode that gives CFIs the ability to position the aircraft, set its heading, move the stations, and then hide the aircraft to let the student find its position.  The app sells for $1.99 in the iTunes Store.
