We are excited to announce the arrival of iFlightPlanner for iPad v2.2, including 750+ georeferenced airport diagrams and 13,000+ instrument approach plates! We built our own proprietary georeferencing process to ensure the georeferencing accuracy and keep the price down for our members. Here are few key notes:
  • On the Airports tab in iFlightPlanner for iPad, look for airport diagrams and instrument approach plates with a blue airplane icon, which indicates the document is georeferenced.
  • As always, tap the document to open the PDF viewer. We kept the documents in their original PDF format so that you have crystal clear readability no matter the zoom level.
  • Once you open the diagram or plate, tap "Map It" at the top to show the document on our seamless VFR and IFR maps in conjunction with your planned route.
  • Once on the map view, tap the orange icon at the top left of the document to easily switch between documents or to another airport altogether. You may also change the document opacity or report a georeferencing issue.

Please note that the georeferenced diagrams and plates require an iFlightPlanner Premium Plus membership, a new member level designed to add enhanced iPad functionality without adding cost to the price for our Premium members who don't fly with an iPad. If you are an iFlightPlanner Premium member and would like to upgrade to Premium Plus, send us a message and we'll prorate the time remaining on your membership with no need for additional payment!

Finally, please feel free to share any questions, comments or suggestions on the new georeferencing features in this forum thread!

Hi John,

Yes, I have a question.
I can not find the fees for subscriptions.

On my account it says 1 month free but what is after the expiration date, what options?

Thank you for this great product.

Cheers, AJ

Hi AJ,

Once your initial 30-day free trial of iFlightPlanner Premium Plus expires, you'll have the option to choose to renew as a Premium Plus, Premium or Free member. iFlightPlanner Premium Plus is $139.99/year or $39.99/3 months and iFlightPlanner Premium is $89.99 year, $24.99/3 months and $9.99/month. Our Free membership is just that and has no time limit.

You can see a full breakdown of features and pricing for each membership level here:

Please let us know if we can help further!

Thanks for your post, drewnesea. We're sorry to hear about your dissapointment with iFlightPlanner. Our Free membership level offers a ton of features on both iFlightPlanner.com and iFlightPlanner for iPad and has no time limit, so there is never any requirement to purchase a Premium membership. We simply give you a 30-day free trial of iFlightPlanner Premium Plus so that you may experience all of our features, then choose the version that is best for your needs as a pilot.

While we do require some aircraft data input to use our advanced flight planning features, we also offer our free aviation charts for simple flight planning at http://www.iFlightPlanner.com/AviationCharts . This great flight planning tool requires no data input to use.

Finally, can you share any more detail about how you find iFlightPlanner to be "twitchy" on an iPhone? Thanks!
