FAA Flight Plan: Include Text in Altitude Field Messages in this topic - RSS

Is there a way to include "text" in the altitude field when filing an FAA Flight Plan?

As an example, I'd like to be able to select IFR as the flight plan, but enter VFR/55 as the altitude. Currently the altitude field only accepts numerical values.

For reference, it is possible on both the CSC Duats and Lockheed Martin sites to use values such as the above,

Thanks -

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the suggestion! There is not currently a way to include text. On first glance, however, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to make that possible. I've made a note for our next development review and will touch base with our contacts at CSC DUATS to get the official guidelines on what input is allowed for the altitude parameter.

As always, thanks for your feedback!
