Every time I use my I-Pad flying and use the Bad Elf GPS plug in the GPS will only work for about a half a minute and then turns itself off. Anyone know what is going on?

Thanks for your post! A couple thoughts:

1) Have you downloaded the Bad Elf GPS status app from the Apple App Store? Simply search for Bad Elf in the App Store on your iPad. The app will help diagnose any issues with your Bad Elf.

2) If the Bad Elf indicates that your GPS plug-in is working correctly, your next step is to turn GPS on in iFlightPlanner for iPad by tapping the "GPS" button at the top left of the map view. We provide this option so that you may turn GPS on or off as needed to save battery life. However, if the GPS is turning off on it's own, an error message should pop up in the app. Are you seeing any error messages when the GPS turns off after a half minute? If so, what is the specific message?

Let us know the answers to those questions and we'll keep working to get to the bottom of the issue!
