Getting Airport Info Messages in this topic - RSS

I've been looking for a way to get airport info directly off of a chart, without adding that airport to the route plan. Right-clicking on a chart brings up a "Location" list of airports and navaids, and the airport of interest is in that list, but its info is not accessible without first left-clicking the airport (which adds it to the plan), then left-clicking on the bubble/pin on the map, and then clicking on the "Airport Info" link. Lots of clicks, and then I have to go remove the airport from the plan.

It would be convenient to have a link to the airport info (i.e. "http://www.iflightplanner.com/Airports/Kxyz") somewhere earlier in that sequence -- probably in the location list. This would put a second function into the Location list -- the current "Plan" plus "Info". I think that's manageable in both terms of code and UX, but you guys are more qualified to assess that.

Thanks for your consideration. :-)

Thanks for your post! We introduced new mapping behavior in early August and noticed this same functionality gap recently. I am confident we can add an "Info" button to the location list for airports as we offer that functionality in iFlightPlanner for iPad. I expect this modification to happen fairly soon!

As of this morning there is now a "View Airport Info" button that links directly to the Airport/Facility Directory page for each airport that appears in the Location pop-up menu. You can use either a left or right-click of the mouse to access the Location menu, and from there, simply click on the icon adjacent to the airport you're interested in.

We really appreciate your input, let us know what you think!
