1) Plan the following flight on Explore Maps web page: KOWD BOSOX V1 MAD V475 BDR RYMES KHPN
2) the plan is supposed to show that upon leaving KOWD, we would join V1 at BOSOX and then proceed on V1 until MAD VOR. Between BOSOX and MAD V1 makes several turns(at GRAYM and HFD) but the route drawn is a straight line.

Hi Sammy,

The Flight Route entry on iFlightPlanner.com/AviationCharts creates basic, point-to-point routes based on known airports, navaids, and fixes. That field does not currently support the auto-routing methods available in the detailed Flight Wizard. When entering "BOSOX V1 MAD V475 BDR RYMES" as a Custom Routing, you will get the route you're looking for.

The options available to you when creating a Custom Route in iFlightPlanner are summarized nicely HERE (scroll down to the User Selected Routing section). It may go into much more detail than what you're looking for, but we wanted you to know how powerful the engine is behind the detailed navigation logs you see.

Knowing that you (and others) may be looking for the auto-routing capabilities on the freely-accessible Aviation Charts, I'll be sure to raise the question in our next technology planning meeting. Thanks again for your feedback!

Best,
Andy
