September 2026 Fuel Price Trends: JET A, 100LL Reach New Highs

U.S. aviation fuel prices climbed more sharply in September, with increases across both JET A and 100LL nationwide.

National JET A Full Service averaged $8.36 in September, representing an increase of $0.39 (4.9%) compared to August. Excluding Alaska and Hawaii, Lower-48 JET A Full Service averaged $8.31, up $0.40 (5.1%) compared to August.

National 100LL pricing also moved higher in September. 100LL Full Service averaged $7.75, an increase of $0.21 (2.8%) compared to August, while 100LL Self Service averaged $6.67, up $0.16 (2.5%), reflecting an approximate 14% savings where self-serve options are available, up from approximately 9% in August.

UL94 Self Service averaged $7.68, up $0.20 (2.7%) in September, while MOGAS averaged $5.61, up $0.04 (0.7%), with both fuels continuing to show limited and highly regional availability nationwide.

Over the past six months, national aviation fuel prices remained elevated, with both fuel types reaching new highs in September. National JET A Full Service increased from $8.05 in April to $8.36 in September, an increase of $0.31 (3.9%), while national 100LL Full Service rose from $7.20 to $7.75, an increase of $0.55 (7.6%). After reaching spring highs in May and easing in June, both fuel types increased for three consecutive months from July through September. Looking further back, JET A Full Service has increased 32.7% since January, while 100LL Full Service has risen 21.7%, providing additional context for the broader upward trend in 2026.
