Dan Drummond has been an aviation enthusiast all of his life, making his first solo flight on his 16th birthday in his hometown of Orlando, Florida. He earned his private and instrument ratings on his 17th birthday. During that year, he became an instructor and holds Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII), Multi-Engine (MEL), and Single Instrument Sea (SES) ratings. He was Chief Pilot of Flying Tiger Air Museum where he flew various “war birds,” including an A-26, performing in air shows. At age 22, Dan moved to Greece as a First Officer on a Convair 880, flying cargo throughout Inter-Europe and North Africa. At age 23, he was hired by Air Berlin, a US Part 121 carrier in Berlin, Germany, serving as a B-707 Captain followed by the B-737 Assistant Chief Pilot. He was then invited to join Air Florida on the B-737 and moved into International Navigation Training and a Check Airman role for that company.
