As a highly experienced Gold Seal Flight Instructor and local FAASTeam Representative, Mr. Chesnut is striving to lower the Nation’s aviation accident rate by conveying safety principles and practices through training, outreach, and education; while establishing partnerships and encouraging the continual growth of a positive safety culture within the aviation community.
Mr. Chesnut holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and a Gold Seal CFII-MEI with over 8,000 total civil/military flying hours in over 30 general aviation aircraft models, and is insurance qualified in most singles, several light twins, several LSAs, and the Piper Turbine Meridian. He also has FAA type ratings in the MD-10 and Gulfstream 5 jets and has performed Part 135 charter operations, Part 141 instruction, and numerous Part 91 assignments.
