Friday, September 26, 2025 @ 8:00 AM

via General Aviation News

Beacon Air Group has opened a new FBO at Yellowstone Regional Airport (KCOD) in Cody, Wyoming. The facility, which opened in the summer of 2025, operates out of a renovated 3,000-sq-ft building that was formerly used by a corporate flight department and an FBO. According to company officials, Beacon Air Group has long been involved at KCOD, having developed 14 hangars at the airport. Owner Joel Simmons said the new FBO builds on that legacy and supports the airport’s growth. The Cody location is the company’s second FBO, following its first in Billings, Montana, which opened in December 2023.

Unleaded 100R Fuel Meets New ASTM Specification

Thursday, September 11, 2025 @ 8:00 AM

via AVweb

Swift Fuels’ 100R unleaded aviation gasoline has received ASTM International specification approval, marking a key milestone in the transition away from leaded avgas. ASTM approval establishes a global production standard, providing the FAA and other regulators with a recognized benchmark for fuel certification. With this approval, the FAA can now expand its Approved Model List beyond Cessna 172R and 172S aircraft with Lycoming IO-360-L2A engines. Swift officials noted that the process included hundreds of tests overseen by the FAA and conducted in collaboration with major OEMs, including Lycoming, Continental, Rotax, Textron, and Piper. Industry groups, including AOPA, welcomed the development as a positive step toward broader adoption of unleaded aviation fuels.
